How to bid on properties

Are you saving for your first rent payment?
Whatever tenure you move into you will need to pay rent in advance, even if you are claiming benefits.

Homes are advertised on this site each week from 6pm on Tuesdays until 9am on Mondays.

Look at the adverts and tell us which properties you like by ‘bidding.’ You can make up to three bids each week.

Bidding is easy and there are a number of ways to do it:

  • Browse and bid online on the Look for a Property page on this website
  • Use the computer kiosks in the Wolverhampton Homes One Stop Shops.
  • Call the automated phone line on 01902 555728 and follow the instructions.

The steps to placing a bid

  1. Login
  2. Search
  3. View the Details
  4. Add to basket
  5. Apply

For full instructions, visit our step by step guide to bidding.

The time of your bid makes no difference when you bid as long as you bid bewteen Tuesday 6pm and Monday 9am.

If you change your mind, you can add or delete bids. You just need to log on to your account to update your bids.

Please remember that if you don't bid you won't be rehoused and if you haven't placed a bid in six months your application could be deferred.

If you have never held a tenancy before or if you've had problems during a previous tenancy, you will not be able to bid until you've been to one of our pre-tenancy workshops.
