How to Create your new online account
Reminder: This how to guide will assist both new and existing customers to Homes in the City register for our new online services system 'My Account'.
Exisiting Customers: include customers who have already completed a housing application. Please be aware that details from the previous self-serve system will not work with the Homes in the City 'My Account'. You will need to re-register to access all our online services.
New Customers are classified as individuals interested in becoming a customer of Homes in the City. New clients will not have a tenancy with Wolverhampton Homes and will not be on the housing register. To begin your housing journey with Homes in the City you will need to register for our online account.
Below we have listed some advice to help you register for your Homes in the City ‘My Account’.
Details required - Existing Customer/ Currently on the Housing Register
The details you will need to set up your new 'My Account' as an Existing Tenant are as follows:
1. Email Address Please ensure that you use a valid email address that you can access and use throughout the registration process. This will also be used to login to your new online account.
2. Payment Reference: This is your reference number that identifies your rent account. This number will appear on all of your rent statements. Your Payment Reference is a 7 digit combination that will end in an alphabetic character. If you need help obtaining your Payment Reference, please get in touch with any member of our Homes Direct team.
3. Application/ Bidding Number This is the reference number customers are given when a housing application has been successfully completed and submitted.
Other details you will need are:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
All the details needed are verified against our internal records upon registration. Please ensure all your details are up to date to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Details required - New Client
The details you will need to set up your new 'My Account' as a new Customer are as follows:
1. Email Address Please ensure that you use a valid email address that you can access and use throughout the registration process. This will also be used to login to your new online account.
Step One: Creating your online account
To access 'My Account' please click the link below:
Create an account: Once you have successfully landed on the 'My Account' login screen, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click the appropriate button to begin your registration process.
Existing Customer (Current Applicant or Tenant): Please select the 'Existing Customers - Sign up' button.
New Customer to Wolverhampton Homes: Please select the 'New Customer - Register Now' button.
This will then lead you through to the 'Register' page. At this stage of the signing up process you will need:
Email Address: Please ensure that you use a valid email address.
Password: Please ensure you follow the password requirements carefully
Upon completing the registration process please click the 'Next' button.
Register 'Check Email'
- The system will then flag up an alert screen, telling you that an email has been sent to your email address. Please ensure you check your spam and junk email folders.
- Please make sure you use the link provided in the email within 1 hour. The link will expire after 1 hour and you will need to complete the registration process again.
Step Two: Email Confirmation of your details
Click the 'Complete Registration' button
Upon clicking the ‘complete registration’ button in the email received, you will be redirected to a new page to validate your details.
Step Three: Register Details - New Customer
You have now been redirected to the 'Register Details' page.
As a new customer you only have one action to complete:
Accepting the terms of agreement: Please ensure you accept and tick the 'terms' in order to progress. Once you have agreed to the 'Terms' please click the 'Finish' button.
Step Three: Register Details - Existing Customer
You have now been redirected to the 'Register Details' page.
Details you will require are as follows:
- Payment Reference - Existing Tenant of Wolverhampton Homes
- Application Reference/ Bidding Number - Currently on the Housing Register
- First Name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
Please select 'Payment Reference' or Application Reference/ Bidding Number from the drop down menu provided. Please ensure you select the correct option else the registration process will not work.
Please continue by adding your details into the required fields. Please ensure that your details are accurate and correct.
Accepting the terms of agreement: Please ensure you accept and tick the 'terms' in order to progress. Once you have agreed to the 'Terms' please click the 'Finish' button.
Step Four: Successful completion of registration process
Congratulations! You have successfully completed the registration process for your new online account.
- Create new housing applications
- Manage existing housing applications
- Check your repairs
- Log and raise new repairs
- Check your account balances
- Check and update your contact and login details
